reconciliation

Okay...I am working on my sermon, you see, and it's about apologia and then this shows up in my inbox. Thank you, Sojourners, for helping me feel just a little like I am on the right track. We'll see what takes, but this was lovely.

Thus says the Lord:
Stand at the crossroads, and look,
and ask for the ancient paths,
where the good way lies; and walk in it,
and find rest for your souls.

Although it is not always socially acceptable, not always popular, we are called to the ministry of reconciliation. We have been entrusted with a specific message -- that Jesus Christ died to reconcile us to God and to each other. The two things were accomplished at the same time, in the same act of salvation ... This is our story, and we have a mandate to tell it.
