the converse and fashion wisdom

Well, this makes sense to me.

"Society's accelerated pace and cultural cross-pollination has set off a migration toward the familiar and authentic."
- Phil Russo, Global Creative Director Converse Footwear p. 86, Marie Claire March 2009
Occasionally someone will postulate that churches will see an upsurge in attendance due to the economic crisis we currently face. Some might. It's true but to a smaller degree than some might believe. This quotation from a fashion magazine proves my point. We are assuming that churches are familiar to many and are an authentic response to the kind of need that's out there. We may be assuming too much. I think that there are comparatively fewer of us for whom church is familiar and authentic places of comfort in trouble.

Hi Tripp, Sorry to contact you through the comments. I cannot find your email. I am attempting to set up a blog with the title "Conjecture," however, the name is being used by you on blogspot. I noticed you have not used the blog in years and that the title of your blog is more than just the word "conjecture." I am writing to ask if you would consider closing the blog. If you do not want to do that, and I completely understand, would you consider changing the domain name to be more in keeping your the blog title, thereby freeing up the domain, "conjecture.blogspot.com"?

Thank you very much for your consideration.

Robbin,

Thanks for asking. I've made a change so you should be able to use it now. Let me know if it didn't work.
