so much

One is changed by what one loves.
- Joseph Brodsky

I really don't know what to say here on the blog. Yesterday's election was historic. No doubt about that. I don't know about you all, but I am deeply moved that an African-American has been elected President of the United States of America. Whether you like his politics or not, it's a significant and positive step. Perhaps this will help us move forward so that we can simply discuss the policy issues. That would be a grand thing.

We just elected "3/5 a person." Do you think the founders mind? Well, certainly some of them would not have, but others...perhaps.

Things that also astounded me: Virgina, Ohio, Florida...McCain's concession speech (a class act!), Jesse Jackson's tears, the crowds in Grant Park, Kenya

That's all I have right now. Be well.

Yes we can.

Yes we did.

As Emilie Townes says: "I cannot imagine doing what I do w/out a robust sense of hope." Said differently, she and Obama provide us all with a life affirming YES!
