wednesday linkage: again, startlingly cold
What is it about Wednesdays that can be so distracting? I've already done a ton of work this morning. In part this is because I seem to be in a dozen conversations via e-mail. And, as fate would have it, the church secretary is ill today. She's at home nursing a fever (Get some rest, Jenn!). So, I am answering the doors for the groups coming in and out of the church this morning. We have a mom and tots group and a writers group that use the church on Wednesday mornings. It's nice to have the building be bustling. Anyway, let's get on with the linkage!
A seminary mate has made the ECUSA press.
This is a nice little article about what it's like to really downsize as a church. She's doing great work. It's a difficult time in the life of a church to say the least, but this is the right attitude! Resurrection.
The Young Fogey and I have
been talking about
this theological reflection. Are we who are on the left teetering on a ledge? It's a good question. We don't want to repeat the sins of the religious right. But we want to hold the government to some kind of standard. YF would suggest voting Libertarian, but I just cannot seem to go there.
Larry
has posted on sentimentality,
apathia and the place of solitude. Yes, he connects them all. Really.
IdaSusan linked to
this article in the comments of another post. It's an interesting rant against POMO language and the emergent church from one of its own. It is a good critique of many of us.
The Google generation is illiterate? Well, now we know! Thanks, Joho Dave. I think that this is always the case of any new technology. I know nothing about how to repair phones. But I use them all the time.
Well, that should keep us all busy today. Take care. Try to get some work done!
