back at it...

Christ, in sending the [people] to the scriptures, sent them, not merely to read them, but carefully to search and ponder them. And did he not say, "Read the scriptures," but "Search the scriptures." ... Their meaning is not expressed superficially or set forth in their literal sense, but, like a treasure, lies buried at a great depth. And those who seek for hidden things will not be able to find the object of the search if they do not seek carefully and painstakingly.

--St. John Chrysostom

I am surprisingly excited. I am headed over to the seminary library with notes and drafts in tow. I have several hours set aside this week to work on my thesis. There is a 9am meeting with my advisor. The laptop batteries are charged. The folder has all I need. My interim associate pastor is preaching this Sunday at Community Church and I am not on the rotation to preach at Reconciler. So, the time I usually devote to sermon preparation can be devoted to writing the thesis. Actually, I've scheduled a lot of thesis time this week.

Thank God for Bret and Jenn at Community Church. I will be absent a ton this week. I am meeting my Johns again.

Go, Tripp, go! I'm actually writing my book this week, too! Let's pray for each other. Deal?

Should you need a change of scenery, the music and art libraries at NU are quite lovely. And there's a coffee shop inside the building!
