"Nature has no mercy at all. Nature says, "I'm going to snow. If you have on a bikini and no snowshoes, that's tough. I am going to snow anyway."”
-Maya Angelou
I awoke this morning to more snow on the ground. I like snow. And I have enjoyed every snowfal we have received this year. But, wow, we have received a lot of snow this year. I admit that we are not upstate New York. Oh no. But I cannot remember a year with so much snow. It's lovely. I want to go to Puerto Rico.
Today I am going to a meeting at the Archdiocese Office. The Ecumenical Millennium Committee is meeting today. The national meeting will be in Chicago this year. There is a lot to plan and work on. I have no idea what I'll be able to do to pitch in. Nonetheless, it's exciting. I know I am a dork. I get it. But still, it's an honor to represent the American Baptist Churches at this meeting. I'll try not to embarass you. I know I'll embarass myself. That is a forgone conclusion.
The coffee is ready. We have been buying our beans from Alchemy. Love it. This week we ran out and Trish picked some Starbucks beans up at grocery store. Italian Roast. Eh. It's fine. But I'll be glad to get back to Alchemy.
Right. Well that's the kind of thing running through my head this morning. I am also thinking about where to donate my money, what it means to be a member of Community Church, if Barak Obama is African-American, if Scooter Libby is really a fallguy, if I should join the clandestine service, if Rudy Guiliani will win the Republican primary, and about the memorial service I am officiating this Sunday. It will be my first.
I hope you all have a good day.
