i have friends who own a theater on in lakeview, and the same thing happend to them at the last assessment. it went up 150% on the theater space. i believe the fought it and won, but still, dang.

We have the opposite problem here in CA -- because tax rates are articifially kept low, real-estate prices are absurdly high. Which is why the median home price in the Bay Area is almost $700k, which of course none but the wealthiest can afford. Seems like you just can't win.
