Today is a beautiful day. It just is. Friends spent the night. We just finished having breakfast on the back porch. I will finish my sermon this afternoon. And tonight Trish and I will enjoy Indian food with some other friends. Lovely. It is just lovely.
Thank you, God, for such days.

But what a lovely day all the same!
I enjoyed the cloudless sky and a break from the heat and cycled about 20 miles, stopping at two jumble sales (love ’em) getting 'The Oxford Book of English Verse', a collection of T.S. Eliot poems (old hardcovers from the 1930s), a paperback copy of Tillyard's 'The Elizabethan World Picture' and a modern yet traditional bronze crucifix (complete with some Latin text from Good Friday, 'Ecce lignum crucis' etc., on it, very early C20 liturgical-movement - had fun haggling for it) then rode, rode, rode on a trail next to a river most of the afternoon among other cyclists, joggers, rollerbladers...
Food: chicken kebabs. Was going to get Indian myself but was sidetracked.
