the deed is done
Trish and I returned home yesterday about noon. Let me tell ya, flying is much nicer than driving to VA. Wow.
This is a picture of the newlyweds. I have a new aunt!
Everyone had a very nice time. Weather and family were quite cooperative. We all joked, however, that standing before the living members of one's genepool is perhaps the most hostile congregation one could face. "You know, son. You may have had an easier time in front of the Republican National Convention." Much laughter was had.
We like to tease. I began my homily with a reflection on the absurdity of marriage. I think my uncle about tipped over. Great fun.
It was an honor. And now that I am safely back in Chicago I can say that I would do it all again. So, if any of you cousins are reading this, let me know if you would like me step up for you as well.
