I am working through my sermon for Sunday. Here are the readings.
Zeph. 1:7, 12-18
Ps 90:1-12
1 Thess. 5:1-11
Matt. 25:14-30
And here is a snippet of what I am thinking:
Advent is coming! It is a time to meditate on what has already happened, a time to steep ourselves in the truth that God has indeed been born in this world, this world of regret and shame, and has redeemed it. The judgment has already come. Embrace that judgment, for it is our salvation, our promise of old. It is the promise of God’s unending and all-encompassing presence in this world.Take a gander at the readings if you have the time. Tell me what you think. I am focusing on the prophet Zephania and the Matthew passage. Posted by tripp at November 11, 2005 11:29 AM

Posted by: Tripp at November 11, 2005 05:03 PMThe first time I preached on X the King/Reign of X I found it a great day. It seems like a liturgical catch your breath day before advent begins. have fun on Sunday, it is a day to celebrate the past liturgical year. Perhaps this day should have all the fanfare of a "secula" new years. So take in all of year a and have at it.
