reason.com

This is a powerful article from Reason.com on the current "war, struggle, conflict, campaign, project, crusade—take your pick—against a terrorist enemy flourishing among the linguistic ambiguities of its foes."

When fighting, one shouldn't need to clutch a dictionary.

I am pretty dern certain that I disagree with that last statement, but the article makes the point more clearly. If we make the War on Terrorism a struggle against violent extremist notions of seahorses then we may be in even worse trouble*.

Besides, I really like seahorses.

*The actural quote from Rumsfeld is "a global struggle against violent extremism." I'm just punchy. But I do like seahorses.
