Today, the leader of the Republican revolution — Newt Gingrich — has publicly aligned himself with Hillary Clinton to call for a larger government role in health care. That’s about as apt a metaphor for what’s happened to the “Republican Revolution” as any.

I've been making an absurd prediction for months now, and as the election of 2008 draws nearer (is it two years away???sheesh!) I think I am backingoff it for a while, but here has been my hot political prediction: Hilary and Newt will run together on an independent ticket.

I've made the prediction because it seems both of their parties are a bit hesitant to run them, Hilary because she is so summarily hated and Newt because he is yesterdays news and the GOP will surely have a "sexier" candidate. So maybe they will create a non-partisan ticket.

I know...I know...its nutso.

What about McCain and Powell on an independent ticket.
