this is what happens...

...when I don't get the chance to post but twice in a week.

First, Ruth, my thesis advisor, saved me a lot of money last night. I will not need to spend thousands in psychotherapy wondering in how many ways I have disappointed her. Nope. She hugged me yesterday and told me that I was one she loved an adored...even if my thesis was not yet complete. Thanks especially to Laura for this revelation.

The Bishop has informed me that I will not be flogged in a public square if I appear at Seabury's graduation tomorrow wearing my "Clericool" collar. This is good to know.

Susie presided at Evensong last night. She was the recipient of the Cantor's Award this year. The aforementioned Bishop is her very own Bishop and won the same award when he was a student at Seabury. I must admit that SWTS has brainwashed me. I love Evensong. I want the church I serve to have Evensong. If I ever have the fortune of serving an ABC congregation (single affiliation, not an ecumenical endeavor), I will try to get them hooked on it as well...wow.

I had dinner last night with Rev. Ref, The Lovely Wife, JaneEllen and Micah. Later there was a party. Heather, Susie, Si, Beth and others were there as well. It was a good time.

And here (here or here) is an interesting job description for a Baptist minister. It is a kind of defacto definition in some ways. Interesting. The vow of poverty is something recent generations have tried to overcome. Airconditioning one's doghouse is a bit overreactive, but it happens.
