scratch my head interesting"There were not sufficient reasons to unleash a war against
Iraq. To say nothing of the fact that, given the new weapons
that make possible destructions that go beyond the combatant
groups, today we should be asking ourselves if it is still licit
to admit the very existence of a 'just war.'"
- Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, May 2, 2003.
I posted this in the forum as well...under "theology."

Posted by: justin at April 21, 2005 02:21 PMPerhaps the media should take care with such labels as "ultra-conservative"...
Posted by: Bryan Peters at April 21, 2005 02:47 PMYep. I hear you. We polarize in this country so quickly. We don't really know what to do with this guy...not really.
As the Schiavo case was making itself known, the Catholic Bishops attempted to make a splash against the death penalty as well. This is almost ignored in the news.
So, are they liberal or conservative. The world may never know.

I hope you 'n Trish are doing something worthy
to celebrate Shakespeare's birthday tomorrow.
The public radio station here has already started.
A friend of mine is a music teacher at a catholic private school. I am going to see
her production of "Bye Bye Birdie" featuring her students tomorrow evening.
I always celebrate Shakepeare & Meryl Streep's
birthdays (M.S. 6-22)
