AKMA has posted about it briefly, calling us to "reflect on and work out our theologies concerning death" while we yet live. A time of crisis is not the time to do this work. It appears that AKMA knew these people. The NY Times has published and article and the Chicago Tribune put it on the front page yesterday. The Judge and her family reside two blocks away from our apartment and are just down the block from North Shore. Trish had a very busy day wrestling with news media and local constabulary. Doug and Carol were interviewed. It was an insane day for all.
I pray that today things will ease up and that The Judge and her remaining family will be able to find some time to grieve. This is horrible.
[Editorial addition: The Tribune published this article today. They have several articles about the tragedy, but this was the most moving to me.]
