It was an excellent, even stupendiferous day! Huzzah! Food. Friends. Hours of music. It was a blast.
I even got to rub my butt against Anna's butt. Cliff had the baby, so Anna came out to play. It was fun.
Sorry you were not there, Clifton. You were missed.
Huzzah!
Posted by tripp at March 18, 2004 12:49 AM | TrackBackWell, now, see - if you were an Orthodox priest, you would have been at the Liturgy of the Presantified Gifts all evening. And I mean ALL evening. You know, they shouldn't speed it up for us panzies, but do they have to intentionally slow it down? It was like a 75 record played at 33 1/3. Anyway, glad you had a delightful day and night... Oh, and who is this Anna person, anyway? Does she like Calvin?
Peace.

Anna, Thomas, is a good fried of mine and my fiance. Her husband, Cliff, is aother good friend. They have a small child named Sophie who is ot yet allowed to venture forth into the world of Irish pubs et al. She is wee. Anna keeps her all day. Cliff, it seems, occasionally gets night duty so Anna can come out and play. I did not expect to see either of them. Having Anna show was a great surprise.
Regarding the liturgy and the intentional slowing down...We protestants simply install a clock in the sanctuary and leave when the brunch is ready at the Holiday Inn. Now, specifically where evening services are concerned...hold on, we really don't do that so much at North Shore Baptist. They are intentionally kept short so people can get home.
Hmm...
Pick yer poison, me boyo! ;-)

Hated to miss it. Glad one of us got to go.
Saturday movie night?
Posted by: Clifton D. Healy at March 18, 2004 11:05 AMI think so. I am bartering right now.
Posted by: Tripp at March 18, 2004 11:30 AMOh yes, how I remember preaching with folks looking at their watches. These were ELCA congregations, mind you, and so I was a marathon preacher at 25 minutes or so a sermon. I actually got a write-up for it at one of my field congregations during seminary. You know, the breakfast bar at Shoneys may stay up 'til one, but the food's usually rather dry by then...
Now, I wonder what would happen if I rubbed another woman's butt with mine... again, that Witness Protection thing would sound awfully good.
Oh, fine Reformed links, by the way.
Peace.
Posted by: Thomas at March 18, 2004 01:27 PMSo you are a convert from ELCA life to the EOC? Interesting. How many of you are there?! Wow. You know, I almost miss Shoney's.
Regarding the witness protection program...well, that may not be a bad option for me by the time all this is over with, Thomas...if that is your real name.
Hmm...
Posted by: Tripp at March 18, 2004 01:51 PMWell, I shouldn't go so far as to say I'm a convert to the EOC - I just attend the liturgies and stuff. I actually went so far as to rashly declare on my former blog that I was becoming Catholic, but I've run into some snags there as well. So, it's all up for grabs again. Now, about those Baptists...
As for my name, ya got me - it's really Joey Gambino Soprano 'Luckless Larry' Two Shakes the Thoid...but don't tell anyone...
Posted by: Thomas at March 18, 2004 02:38 PMWell, Joey, it is goot to meet you.
Posted by: Tripp at March 18, 2004 03:10 PMHey Tripp,
It's the Bishop again. I went to an Antiochian Orthodox Church Warrenville, Bob Webber's friend, Father Cardilloni is the priest. It was awsome an experience. Bob was wondering if I am going to become Orthodox but I am happy in the CEC because I can be both orthodox in thinking while anglican in ritual. I like both east and west. Tripp did you get my message on your St Patrick entry
