Well, here goes another round of von Balthazar quotes.
All the profound mysteries of Christian prayer revolve around this indwelling of the Spirit of God in the soul; so that, once again, we see that the very possibility of Christian contemplation is founded entirely upon the doctrine of the Trinity.
and here is another for your enjoyment.
The images of the world which in former times spoke of God have become obscure ciphers and riddles, the words of scripture have been whittled away by rationalistic skeptics, human hearts have been so crushed and trampled on in this age of the robot that they are no longer sure that contemplation is possible.
Interesting stuff to write about. Cool.

"You're wrong Adama, the Cylons will never be defeated!"
Posted by: upyernoz at December 13, 2003 08:36 AMAhem...I think that this is a different Balthazar. This is von Balthazar. The mistake is common, however, creating some confusion for many seminarians. For example, Adama, closer perhaps to the original Hebrew, is not the same as Adam in spite of his name. So, theories about Adam and Even being from a space faring race are perhaps farfetched. Yet, scholars argue that cubits are a measurment not from a past time but from another, even alien, culture. It is an interesting hypothesis.
