sigh

Can't we all just get along? Has anyone else tried introducing cats to one another? This is a frigging g-d nightmare. Sigh.

They are so dern sweet until they are around one another. Then it is howling and tag team kitty madness and all sorts of other "weeping and gnashing of teeth" type stuff to deal with.

Sly bit Trish as she held him.
Mike scratched Trish as she tried to pass him by.
They all hate me at the moment...

...There are many critters in this house in need of a time out.

In other unrelated news, I have a wee paper for AKMA again. I am revisiting how Matthew is used, or not used, to institute baptism. Where I am looking is in the Second London Confession. It's a Baptist thing.

What I am interested in is the idea of "ordinance and example." Both Matthew 28 and Matthew 3 are evoked in the confession to illustrate the theology as found in scripture.

What is curious is that in the liturgical textbooks that I have, primarily from more sacramental traditions like RC and ECUSA, Matthew seems to be ignored when sacrament is the subject. For the confessions...and there are many...it runs the other way. Yes, Acts, the Epistles and occasionally Mark is called upon to give creedence. But Luke and John are skirted around. I dunno. Maybe it is just my imagination, but there is something going on there that I just don't quite get. There is a liturgical element to all of this.

Does liturgy shape our scriptural hermeneutic? I know. Chicken. Egg.

More after I pen this thing for AKMA.

we had to give up on having cats live together after 18 months of trying when we were able to find a good home for one. within 2 weeks of living together tiamat bulked up and beat up stella every day. tiamat was angry with susan and me all the time. she couldn't deal with us bringing a new cat into her life.
